Chris Luis: A Dedicated Husband, Father, and Advocate for Mental Well-being

At the centre of my life is my amazing wife and our three incredible children. They are my greatest joy and the driving force behind everything I do. Together, we cherish the simple moments, from family dinners to outdoor adventures, and the laughter that fills our home is a constant reminder of what truly matters.

Professionally, I bring 20 years of experience in the mining and industrial sectors. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside men and women of all ages, from eager teens just starting out as apprentices to seasoned professionals navigating the complexities of their careers. This diverse experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals at every stage of life, particularly in the high-pressure environments of mining and industry.

Before my current focus, I also ventured into the world of hospitality as a business owner. This period of my life taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the value of genuine human connections. Whether managing a team or serving customers, I learned that the heart of any successful business lies in the relationships we build.

Through my work, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that mental health issues can have on individuals and communities. I have seen the struggles of young apprentices grappling with self-doubt, the anguish of teens facing overwhelming pressures, and the silent pain of older men enduring the heartache of marriage breakdowns. These experiences ignited a passion within me to support others in breaking free from destructive patterns and realising their full potential.

My journey in this field has often seen me stepping into the role of an unofficial mentor, providing a listening ear and offering guidance to those who simply needed someone to talk to. I believe in the power of connection, and I am a firm advocate of gratitude as a transformative practice. The simple act of acknowledging what we are thankful for can bring about profound healing, and it’s a principle I strive to embody every day.

In my pursuit of helping others, I have embraced the teachings of Quality Mind, a system that has profoundly impacted my own life. Through this journey, I’ve learned to let go of past burdens, live more fully in the present, and build the self-confidence needed to face life’s challenges head-on. My passion for this work led me to complete Applied Suicide

Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), equipping me with the tools to support those in crisis. Outside of my professional and mentoring roles, I have a deep love for sports, training, and self-care. These activities not only keep me physically fit but also serve as vital outlets for maintaining mental and emotional well-being.

In all that I do, my goal is to inspire and uplift others, helping them to unlock their potential and live their best lives. I am committed to making a positive impact, whether it’s in my family, my community, or in the lives of those I mentor.
